IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Camper Information: Toddlertime camp is for children 2 (by the start of camp or starting Toddlertime in the fall) until they enter kindergarten. We suggest a 5 week program for those children who are entering our 2’s program or who will still be two on 12/31/12 but we also offer a two week (weeks 1-2) and a three week (weeks 3-5) option. For those children who turn 3 after camp starts but before 12/31/12, we require two consecutive weeks unless your camper did the Toddlertime 2’s program. All other children may do one week sessions but if this is your child’s first camp/school experience, we highly suggest two consecutive weeks no matter what their age is. If your child was a two during the school year, they are now a three, a three now a four and so forth. You should not expect that your children will be in the same classroom or with the same teachers as during the school year.
Staff: Summer camp is under the supervision of the owners, Barbara Davis and Carolyn Williams and directed by Nancy Ferullo. They are responsible for the development and implementation of the camp program and the hiring and training of staff. Each group consists of at least two staff members. In addition to many of our nursery school teachers who lead summer camp, we hire highly qualified early childhood professionals and college students studying education. The twos have a 4:1 ratio and all other groups have approximately a 5:1 ratio. Lead staff is American Red Cross certified in First Aid and CPR.
Registration Dates: Registration for students enrolled in Toddlertime for the 2012-2013 school year or entering kindergarten begins February 6th with priority enrollment until February 25th at which time registration opens to the public. If you are not a student enrolled for the 2012-2013 school year or entering kindergarten, we are happy to take your registration material at any time but you will be placed on a waiting list in the order received and processed once registration is opened to the public.
2’s Program/Orientation: Please note that the entering two year olds will follow the same theme but it will be scaled back to a developmentally appropriate level with a focus on social interaction with peers, transitioning and successful separation from caregiver. The first day of your camp session will run on a modified schedule. A parent or caregiver will attend from 9:30-10 with the child and then the child will stay until 11 without a parent or caregiver. 2's do not have to be potty trained.
Payment: Payment is due at registration. There is a one-time per summer application fee of $25 for each camper. There is no fee for the a la carte options.
Forms: If you are a current student and your medical forms are valid through the summer, you are all set. For all other students except those attending with an adult we need 1) a Medical Form 2) Emergency Information Form and 3) Student Profile Form (Student Profile necessary if this is your child’s first school experience). If your child has allergies, we need an Emergency Medical Protocol Form and a locked box labeled with your child's name containing sealed allergy medications with current prescription label and a completed prescription medication form. These forms are available in the office or can be downloaded from our web site.
Cancellation Policy: The camp fees less $50 will be refunded if your child is withdrawn before May 1st. After May 1st, your money less a $50 is refunded only if your space is filled. There will be no refunds or make ups for camp absences unless the session is canceled by Toddlertime. If a session is canceled you will receive a complete refund. Minimum numbers required to run sessions.
Friends: If you would like your child placed with a friend, please let us know when you register and we will do our best to accommodate the request. Children must be in the same age group to be placed together. If we cannot accommodate your request, we will let you know before processing your application.
Food: A snack is provided every day. If your child has allergies or special dietary restrictions, please send in a snack. If your child is staying past 12, please provide a labeled peanut and nut free lunch with a drink.
What to Bring: Your counselors will let you know whether your child should pack or wear their bathing suit. Each day you should bring a lunch (if applicable), plastic bag and change of clothing in a clearly labeled backpack/bag. If your child is in diapers, please send diapers. You may leave your bag at school all week. Wet items will be sent home for drying and replacement.
What to Wear: Please send your child to camp in sturdy/secure sneaker type shoes-water shoes strongly preferred. Please no flip flops, crocs or open toes. Please apply sunscreen every day before camp even on cloudy days. Dress for mess and outdoor play every day even in the rain. Please clearly label everything you send to camp.
Special Events: Special events will take place on the last day of each session. The two’s do not participate in the camp wide special event.
Drop off/Pick Up: For your convenience, we have an optional Drop & Drive program for all ages except our two year olds. All children must be walked in on their first day of camp except children who have completed the fours or the fives at Toddlertime may use the drop off on the first day. Drop off begins at 8:45am. Please do not arrive early because the counselors need this time to set up. No matter where or how you enter, all children must stop by the check-in table where they will receive their team color and room assignment. When you arrive to pick up your child, please check the white boards for their location which will be listed by team color.
Parking: Parking is available in the front of the church, along St. John’s Place and in the rear of the church. If you are walking your child in, it’s best to park in the front to avoid the drop off line. For the safety of the children, please do not drive around the drop off line. Please do not park in the first 10 spots in the back marked “Staff Parking” because those are reserved for church staff.
